Gift Guide by Style Visionaries

Winter is closing in… and with it comes the perfect opportunity to share with those close to our hearts our ultimate picks of the festive season. Nothing surpasses that wonderful feeling of giving a gift that hits the mark, both for the giver and receiver. As ever at Esensual Living we remain dedicated to high quality and purity as well as beautiful aesthetics and craftsmanship, choosing products that embody all that is good in the world. And the festive season is where Esensual Living comes into its own, offering a selection of highly curated products pleasing to both body and soul. Whether you are looking for something special for your devoted partner, a valued work colleague or your best friend, Esensual Living is the online retail destination to take care of it all…

In this month’s Art of Giving issue, celebrated interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch, known for his knock out aesthetics and contemporary elegance, joins us as one of our Style Visionaries to draw up his list of special treats “FOR HIM.” Compiling a special list “FOR HER” we have another fabulous creative talent from the world of interior design, Caroline Sarkozy, sharing with us her picks. Both our Style Visionaries choose from across our selection of niche home textiles, home accessories and wellbeing products. Further defining our gift range, we invite decorator Catherine Colé, and Aisling Greally, founder of the blog Trésor Parisien, to choose gifts within a definite price range – Catherine Colé takes charge of the under 250 Euros range while Aisling Greally selects those under 100 Euros. Something for everyone…

A nomadic childhood and cosmopolitan background has endowed interior designer Caroline Sarkozy with an open mind and a formidable capacity to adapt to local cultures in different contexts.

With sophisticated tastes and a devotion to quality, she creates high-end interiors the world over, mingling a deep respect for the past with a passion for contemporary design.

Her love for “French refinement,” as she puts it, lends a true vibrancy to her strong – and often daring – mix of colours and materials. Audacious and eclectic, Caroline Sarkozy’s interiors capture the multi-cultural influences of a world without borders.  Vivacious yet chic and refined, Caroline Sarkozy is perfectly aligned to the spirit of Esensual Living, and shares with us her Gift Guide to treats “FOR HER”.

“When I work on a project, it is all about the details. They bring to a room the luxury and comfort that I seek - and always find - at Esensual Living.

Scented candles are a must, adding to a room invisible magic. Always on the look out for organic products, WOO’s 100% natural scented candles such as Tranquility, or Karmameju’s Hope, are just the thing for me. The Flor d’Arancio Room Spray by Laura Tonatto makes a wonderful small gift.

Because I like light colours in bedrooms, I love the beautiful soft coloured bedspread Granito from Teixidors’s, along with the Hydra cushions. All these items are bound to be successful gifts because of their beautiful quality and aesthetics”.

Celebrated Paris-based interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch is known worldwide for his prestigious projects that express his “Made in France” style. From a five-star hotel in Paris, to a 17th century chateau in Provence, along with ultra-modern residences in Europe and the United States, his “haute couture” approach to design relies on a strong architectural presence and rigorous aesthetics. Intuitive, imaginative and a self-confessed perfectionist, Pierre Yovanovitch is synonymous with quality and contemporary elegance. As a longtime friend of Esensual Living, here he shares with us his “FOR HIM” Gift Guide…

“I have a taste for understated luxury and authentic materials. Gifts should adapt to our friend’s personalities and homes. Esensual Living is perfectly in tune. My choices are the Teixidors’s 100% linen throw, the soft and light Nimbus in linen and silk, the luxurious cashmere and cotton France throw by Kajaal, perfect on a bed or a sofa. For home scents, my picks are the RPL Maison Ambre Ottoman candle and the room diffuser Figuier de Sorrente, also by RPL Maison. For a touch of colour, it has to be Hainsworth’s Vivid Living merino wool blanket in orange, and I can’t resist Cecchi&Cecchi’s chic and graphic Grant throw in 100% virgin wool.

Decorator Catherine Colé’s Parisian boutique Noblesse Oblige showcases one of the most impressive selections of superlative handmade sofas in Europe. The furniture and lamps she designs exude easy grace, bringing to mind all at once memories of the Shakers, 18th century French design and Nordic styles. A textile specialist, she hunts the world for beautiful weaves, creating comfortable, easy going, luxuriously understated designs that bring a contemporary approach to classicism. Her pieces are as much at home in a country house as a city dwelling. For Catherine Colé, God is in the detail, hence surrounding herself with the best artisans. In collating a Gift Guide from Esensual Living’s under 250 Euros range, Catherine Colé displays her keen taste for quality and beauty…

“I love to add a rustic touch to urban surroundings, it brings comfort and freshness to interiors. Esensual Living’s subtle and high end selection of textiles and scents fit in beautifully with my conception of a relaxed and refined life style. Pillow cases, such as Alexandre Turpault’s refined Gabriel, or Libeco’s denim colour Wyoming with its country like ruffles are among my favourite choices for the bedroom and mix perfectly with the graphic pattern of the Abbeywood line in100% linen. Another favourite is the wool and silk Hydra Throw from Teixidors. Anyone would enjoy stepping into their bathroom in a Nina Ricci’s Mistral bathrobe and to dry themselves with 100% organic Libeco Baden towels. As for home scents, I’ll be wrapping up Woo’s scented candle Tranquillity and RPL Maison’s Lys Blanc, each with a perfumed frieze Fior d’Arancio, by Laura Tonatto.

Founder and editor of the blog Trésor Parisien, Irish-born Aisling Greally fell in love with Paris when she first discovered it three years ago. A modern day urban explorer and a specialist in digital communications, she never tires of walking, cycling or diving into the Métro, to unearth the latest Parisian tips in the fields of fashion, design, food culture, exhibitions, shopping and street style.
Citing Saint Germain des Près and the Palais Royal as her favourite quartiers, you will often find her with a camera in one hand and a notebook in the other, collating all that is unique and original to upload to her digital platform, sharing her discoveries, experiences with us like a new best friend.
Entering into the festive spirit, Aisling Greally embarks upon a different treasure hunt this month, compiling Esensual Living’s Gift Guide to presents Under 100 euros.

“At this time of year, I enjoy curating my own little festive hampers, filling them with luxury artisanal products from Esensual Living. In one of my hampers, I would include Caravane’s Nido organic hand towel, a bottle of Karmameju Spa hand lotion and a Laura Tonatto perfumed Frieze “Arena,” a wonderful accessory to scent drawers and wardrobes.

Plaisir candle by Laura Tonatto, with its festive scent, would make a perfect gift for a friend’s home. As a special gift, I’d choose a Nina Ricci Stella cushion, or one of Caravane’s 100% linen Luni cushions, which I like to mix with the washed velvet Lave cushion.”
